The sims 1 beta
i want that high definition look like what creators have made in second life within the past few years (avatars) (worlds). i want sims and buildings and worlds to be mesh rather than clay. it needs to be absolutely nothing like the sims 4, i sure as hell don’t want a sims 4 sequel.
this is the fifth title, i aught to be an absolute showstopper.
THE SIMS 1 BETA UPGRADE
i want the sims 5 to be a total upgrade from all of the sims games combined. i’m truly hoping for the sims 5 to be above and beyond, to be visually beautiful and realistic. Though i unfortunately spent money on the useless disk that is the sims 4 base game as well as get together (and played the game for about one month) through all of the sims 4’s run time i’ve stuck to the sims 3. It's really helped give me more rounded Sims that I can relate to much more as people, rather than cheap slave labor to give me Aspiration points. But instead I'm doing things like sending her to college, or having her take up gardening, learning to cook, etc.
I recently made a Sim with the writing aspiration, normally I would have been solely focused on completing the goals and nothing else so that I could move on to the next Aspiration. I recently got into modding solely to turn all of the Aspirations into lifetime goals rather than checklists, and I cannot believe how much that simple change improved the game and changed my playing style. It's a shallow attempt to keep players engaged through nice little short-term goals, as opposed to fleshed-out and rich gameplay. Many other systems in the game simply exist to support the completion of Aspiration goals, Whims were a major culprit here prior to them being turned off automatically. From the way the worlds/lots work, to the lack of content, to the gameplay itself.Īspirations have been turned into satisfying checklists, meant to make them the main focus on any gameplay sessions. Oh unfortunately it is absolutely true, and it's sadly pretty easy to see how it drove the gameplay decisions for the base game.
Likewise, I want them to be able to think about how much time they have until the next mandatory scheduled task(work or school), and be able to decide whether they need to hustle or if they can take their time and fill all the bars. I want my sim to think ahead to their state at the end of their desired "sleep" action, then re-evaluate and eat, then pee, then go to sleep. Like if sleep is the lowest motive, but hunger and bladder are also kind of low, I don't want my sim to react purely to the lowest need and go to bed. I want sims to be more aware of what's about to happen, rather than just what's currently happening. I think that's actually top of my wish list for AI in sims 5, apart from retaining the improved route finding(where they don't wave their hands in the air and complain about stuff in the way, not stuff like washing dishes where they angry poop) from 4. You have to physically separate them into their own eating cubbies if you want them to choke down breakfast in a reasonable amount of time like the rest of us normal humans. And worse, it's not an action you can cancel or anything.if another sim is sitting at the table with your sim, they're 100% going to go into slow social eating mode. I don't mind so much in the evening(unless it's a kid who has homework to do), but in the morning I have to stagger breakfasts so that they don't all sit down together and literally spend an hour+ eating a bowl of cereal because of talking. TS2 does have the same issue with talking and eating that TS4 does. In TS2 and TS3 though, they talk AND eat at the same time, talking doesn't take precedence. They have a big head that needs to be deflated. If I could legally obtain a functioning copy of The Sims 2 I'd never buy another of EAs over corporate scams ever again. Everything else completely blows compared to past games. Honestly, the only two things I like about Sims 4 is the more realistic multi-person conversations and the First Person Camera. There's no console versions with cool gimmicks. Some weird meta simulation of everything boring in life like social media. Still some incredible spinoffs and side stories. Sims 3 was a slightly upgraded Sims 2 with better graphics and more design options. Sims 2 was a living, breathing world with many stories from the Strangetown hotel to the Vet Clinic They have that mentality of "we're THE simulation game, whatever we do is correct" so they just half ass many details. They clearly have a different dynamic since Sims 2 got so big. If they do, it'll only be their downfall.
